About Allison Venner, M.D.

Dr. Allison Walter Venner is a board-certified gastroenterologist with a passion for providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. Growing up in south Louisiana, Dr. Venner developed an early appreciation for the importance of community and resilience—values that have shaped her approach to medicine. She attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, where she earned her medical degree, followed by an internal medicine residency at Georgetown University. She then completed her fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of New Mexico, experiences that provided her with a broad exposure to diverse patient populations and a wide range of clinical challenges.

Dr. Venner enjoys all aspects of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, describing them as “ever-changing fields which allow for constant learning and interest. There are varied care settings like the hospital, clinic, and procedures which allow continuity of care for the patient throughout the disease process. “

She has a particular interest in autoimmune diseases affecting the digestive system, including Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Celiac Disease, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, and autoimmune liver diseases. Dr. Venner is committed to staying at the forefront of advances in her field to provide the best possible care for her patients.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Venner enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, and hiking in beautiful Utah.
