About Tanya Evans, M.D.
Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
Every patient deserves a physician passionate about what they do. I chose gastroenterology because I find the digestive system fascinating. Gastroenterology is complex and encompasses a diverse spectrum of ailments. This affords me the opportunity to partner with patients to develop individualized health solutions.
Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?
Colorectal cancer screening, women’s health, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
Where did you study?
For undergraduate, I studied biomedical engineering at Southern Methodist University. In 2005, I graduated from University of Texas Southwestern medical school. I then completed my residency training at Texas A&M – Scott & White in 2008. Following this, I completed my fellowship training in gastroenterology at Baylor University Medical Center in 2012.
What certifications do you hold?
I am Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
With my family, I enjoy attending live city events. Additionally, I like canvas painting and interior design.
Do you have any special honors or recognitions in your medical career that you would like to share?
I served as Chief Resident and Instructor at Texas A&M – Scott & White following residency. I am a published author and am involved with national professional society committee work. In recent years, I have been selected to the Super Doctors list as published in Texas Monthly.

Dr.Evans is the absolute BEST!! She and all the team made me feel comfortable and cared for. They addressed all my concerns and I knew I was in good hands. I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone.
I only gave 4 stars bc I needed to speak with someone in the office the day of my prep- I left two messages and never heard back. I went with my instincts for the answer to my question and it all went fine, but I really would have preferred getting confirmation from the office. But again- Dr. Evans and the entire team at the office the day of my procedure were top notch! No one ever really wants a colonoscopy but if you need to have one, Dr.Evans is the best.

I had a very pleasant visit with Dr. Tanya Evans. (GI) The staff was pleasant and very welcoming. Although my concerns healthwise are under control I have no doubt when an issue does arise she will address it. It was very well worth my nearly an hour drive. The only draw back was parking was terrible!
Dr. Evans is truly an extraordinary doctor. She takes the time to listen to her patient's questions or concerns. She responds with answers that can be understood and appreciated by her patients. I recommend her without reservation.

Dr Evans and the entire staff at Texas Endoscopy are the best. I have been seen multiple times and each visit is consistent with empathy and professionalism. Dr Evans visits before and after the procedure and reassures with the results immediately. Will continue to use this group of professionals in the future.
Dr. Tanya Evans is absolutely phenomenal! She is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and her 'attention to detail' is top tier. This was my first ever colonoscopy and her confident, assuring deameanor put me at ease. Dr. Evans' communication style is well balanced between her extensive knowledge and her warm bedside manner. She made me feel seen, heard, and cared for as her patient. I highly recommend her for your next colonoscopy, or any other GI related service.
