About Dr. Sirish Rao, M.D.
Why Gastroenterology?
I chose to specialize in gastroenterology because of my fascination with the intricate workings of the digestive system and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives. The field offers a unique blend of procedural and clinical medicine, allowing me to perform various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as endoscopies and colonoscopies, while also developing a deep understanding of complex gastrointestinal disorders. By practicing gastroenterology, I can actively contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of conditions ranging from irritable bowel syndrome to gastrointestinal cancers, often preventing the progression of diseases through early intervention. This dynamic and evolving specialty enables me to merge my passion for hands-on procedures with a compassionate approach to patient care, ultimately enhancing their overall well-being and quality of life.
What Can Patients Expect?
Patients can expect an exceptional standard of care characterized by professionalism, compassion, and a patient-centered approach. I firmly believe in the power of collaboration, treating each patient as an integral part of their own care team. By fostering open communication and involving patients in their treatment decisions, I strive to create a harmonious partnership that promotes the best possible outcomes and a sense of empowerment on every step of their healthcare journey.

Reviews
He was very caring band thorough.
My husband has had severe stomach pain/issues for the last 3 years. He is a veteran and we live in Pinetop, we went through Summit Healthcare and their ER and were told he was fine and it was a diet issue. Then we went to the VA and asked for an outside referral for a GI and were given Arizona Digestive Health and I chose Dr. Rao. Let me tell you what a blessing he is! He came into the consult and didn’t ask repetitive questions, he was well aware beforehand of my husband’s history and complaints and knew he needed a colonoscopy which we were able to schedule the following week. He removed a 1.5 cm lipoma and my husband now has relief from his pain! We love this doctor, his staff is awesome also. Aisha in the front makes scheduling an ease and his medical assistant Jada responded and resolved an issue we were having with the VA in less than 24 hours. Esther at the surgery center was a rock star also, she showed a lot of care when he was brought out to me. We are very happy with our experience here. Dr. Rao is a class act and we appreciate him 100!!
Top Notch DOC! My GI Dr Rao is hands down THE BEST!!! I’ve been working with him for the past 6+mo for my liver issues etc and Dr Rao has made me feel well cared for & my health has been improving! He’s very easy to talk to and listens to my questions & concerns. He’s very knowledgeable & thorough! He truly cares for his patients & I couldn’t be happier with choosing Dr Rao & his crew as apart of my care team!! I can’t express enough how blessed I am for stumbling into finding Dr Rao… I HIGHLY RECOMMEND 😊👍🏽
My first appt with Dr Rao. Very personable, made me feel comfortable, explained my options clearly, and answered all of my questions.
My husband has some health issues and came out of the hospital and needed to be seen by a specialist within 3 wks. His regular doc couldn’t get him in till end of Dec. I realize it’s hard to get into specialist regardless , but I saw Dr Rao’s reviews and gave it a try. Not only were they able to get him in within days, but even a surgery following week. My husband was happy with everything he covered with him. Dr Rao was knowledgeable and caring to his needs. Thank you this is true care and client services. I recommend him.
