About Taryn Silverstein, D.O.
Dr. Taryn Silverstein is originally from Miami but was raised here in Wellington. She attended undergraduate school at Washington University in St. Louis where she obtained her degree in Anthropology and completed a pre-medical curriculum. During her junior year, she was lucky enough to study abroad in Sydney Australia, this was followed by a year moving across the southeastern US doing service projects with AmeriCorps NCCC. She then returned to South Fla to attend Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and subsequently spent 7 years at the University of Massachusetts completing her training in internal medicine, serving as chief resident and completing her fellowship in gastroenterology. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Dr. Silverstein initially became interested in gastrointestinal diseases in childhood as her brother was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at young age. Her passion has only grown since that time and she continues to enjoy caring for patients with a variety of gastrointestinal disorders.
Dr. Silverstein is excited to be back home in Florida at Gastroenterology Associates of Florida and is thrilled to be raising her family in the same area where she grew up.
In her free time, Dr. Silverstein is interested in nutrition and yoga. She also loves to dance, paint, travel and spend time with her wonderful husband and two sons.

I am a patient of Dr. Taryn Silverstein for the past six months. I went to see her when I was in extreme discomfort from a GI episode. I live in Miami and drove 1.5 hours just to see her after reading all of her amazing reviews. She took her time with me and listening attentively to everything I had to say. Since that time I have been back two other times for further evaluation and review of test results and she was equally patient, understanding and calming. She not only does a thorough review of you clinically; but also physically exams you. I am highly impressed and amazed by the use of the GI Alliance portal and how quickly Dr. Silverstein has responded to all my messages within 24 hours. I can't begin to stress how incredibly impressed I am by this. She even took the time to call me personally on a Friday later afternoon to offer me reassurance to what was going on with me medically. I am still in the process of doing further tests; etc; but no matter what the outcome is I feel confident in my choice of this incredible physician. I know I will be heard and well taken care of. In this day and age a physician such as Dr. Silverstein is a rarity. Her energy and positive attitude only adds to her amazing qualities. I feel blessed that I found her.
Dr. Silverstein gave me time to voice any concerns i might have and offered various ways we could approach dealing with a solution.
Dr Silverstein is amazing. She truly cares about all of her patients. Her professionalism and compassion is unlike any other. I can’t recommend her enough. As a women I preferred a female GI when it came colonoscopy time. She’s the best!
