Gastroenterologist

About Sezen Altug, M.D.
Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
I was attracted to Gastroenterology because of the diversity in this field. There are multiple organs involved, which allows me to deal with various disorders, diagnostic testing and treatments, all in the course of a day. I also enjoy both the personal aspect and the technical component of the field. It is very rewarding to get to know my patients, not just based on their symptoms, but also personally, and then working together to find the best solution to their problem. Performing procedures is not only enjoyable but allows me better insight into my patient’s problem and management.

Every time I've seen Dr Altug, I'm reminded how well she fits this bill. What she is NOT is a doctor who has her/his face in the their laptop, and then one foot out the door, while trying to communicate with me, which I actually experienced in the past with another doctor. [Plz pardon the run-on sentence - my English teachers would probably have a fit with me.]
My wait times in the lobby have always been reasonable. In fact, on this last visit, I had barely gotten my phone out of the holster and brought to a point to start using, when they came out and called my name.
I've been very happy with the office staff, especially when it comes to their flexibility scheduling future follow-up office visits and procedures.
We highly recommend Dr Altug!
