About Seemeen Hassan, M.D.

Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?

I chose to specialize in Gastroenterology because it offers an ideal balance of diagnostic and procedural work, allowing me to make a meaningful and profound impact on patient’s lives through performing upper endoscopies, colonoscopies, as well as advanced interventional techniques like ERCP and EUS. The specialty is both challenging and rewarding, covering a diverse range of conditions that require both intellectual rigor and hands-on skills. I am driven by compassion for my patients and the joy of seeing them happy when they heal. That is why I decided to be a physician in the first place. I am a very good listener and place a great deal of emphasis on winning the trust of my patients. I’m drawn to the opportunity for preventative care, particularly in cancer screening, and the chance to build long-term relationships with my patients, helping improve their quality of life.

Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?

My primary interest lies in advanced endoscopy, particularly in performing Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), fine needle aspiration/ biopsy (FNA/B), large polyp resections, and stenting of the gastrointestinal tract for various diseases. These procedures enable me to provide precise, minimally invasive care for complex conditions involving the liver, biliary, and pancreatic systems, gastrointestinal pre-cancerous growths, and other challenging diagnoses. Advanced endoscopy allows me to combine my passion for technical skills with the ability to make a real difference in patient outcomes.
