About Scott Wardlaw, M.D.
I enjoy many areas of GI but have a particular interest in IBD and liver disease.
Why Gastroenterology?
I was initially drawn to gastroenterology after doing quite a bit of work taking care of patients on an inpatient liver service during residency. I found it both educational and rewarding to help patients navigate the twists and turns involved in these medical conditions. The more exposure I had to all facets of GI, the more I learned how many other opportunities are available to have an impact on the patients I serve.
What can patients Expect?
I think something I really value is developing a rapport with my patients and their families. I put a lot of importance on listening and shared decision making to help address the issues most important to my patients and put together a treatment plan most in line with their goals.
Outside of the Office
I enjoy spending time with my family, being active in the outdoors, trying new restaurants and traveling.
Interests outside of work?
My wife Julie and I enjoy spending time with family (both with mine in Little Rock and with hers in New England). We also enjoy relaxing on Lake Ouachita whenever possible. Otherwise, I enjoy golfing and duck hunting with my Labrador retriever, Lou. I'm also an avid supporter of the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Very nice people
The moment I entered the office, I was welcomed. There were smiles on the faces and a willingness to help. When I was called to go to the exam room, the nurse again was friendly and understanding. Then the Doctor came in and discussed with me options & concerns. I’ll be seeing them for checkups regularly.
We got off on the wrong footing. I didn’t think he listens to me. But I went back and actually told him my thoughts. He wasn’t a happy camper, but he listened. He study my test, X-rays and changed my medicine. Agree I needed surgery. But I would have to give him a 4.
Wonderful doctor who actually listens to you!
Dr Wardlaw was easy to talk to and attentive to my concerns. He answered all my questions and we didn't have to wait long to get in.
