About Richard M. Sperling, M.D.
Dr. Richard Sperling attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, graduating in 1988. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of California San Diego Medical Center. He was selected for an additional year as Chief Medical Resident from 1991–1992. Dr. Sperling completed his gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco from 1992-1995. He is currently certified in gastroenterology and hepatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Sperling joined Austin Gastroenterology in 1995.

Dr Sperling was excellent ! I choose not to have anesthesia. He was very carefully and it was not painful or concerning! I drove home Experience was a breeze compared to going to the dentist. I would highly recommend Dr Sperling Note: I am very critical about healthcare providers as I have worked in healthcare for 50 years!
