About Philip McAndrew, M.D.

Dr. Philip McAndrew is a Board Certified gastroenterologist who treats a wide range of GI issues. He is involved in GI clinical research and serves as the Clinical Director of the Infusion Department and Ocean State Endoscopy Center.

Dr. McAndrew received his medical degree from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dublin Ireland. He then went on to complete his Medical Residency at Yale University at Norwalk Hospital. Dr. McAndrew completed his medical Fellowship at Harvard University/Brigham and Women's Hospital, Faulkner Hospital, and West Roxbury VA Hospital.

Dr. McAndrew’s interest in gastroenterology and hepatology arose from the diversity of conditions we treat in this specialty. Unlike other specialties that focus on one organ, we in gastroenterology have an opportunity to treat diverse conditions in multiple organ systems. There is never a mundane day in gastroenterology. There are always challenges, interesting diagnoses, and opportunities to learn.

Family time is very important to Dr. McAndrew. He enjoys playing golf, boating, and fishing.
