About Pedro Barros, M.D.
Dr. Pedro Barros is a Board Certified gastroenterologist who treats all GI issues, however, he focuses on issues affecting the Latino community.
From when he was a child, the digestive system was so fascinating to Dr. Barros. It is amazing how gastroenterology diseases affect many other organ systems. His approach to caring for patients is to start by listening carefully to their concerns and their history. The history and physical exam help him to determine the best diagnostic and treatment plan that both he and the patient are comfortable with.
Dr. Barros received his medical degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Lima, Peru (Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University). He then went on to complete his Medical Residency at Southern Illinois University. Dr. Barros completed his medical Fellowship at the University of Arizona/Phoenix VA/Good Samaritan Medical Center.
In his free time, Dr. Barros enjoys traveling with his wife, spending time with his family, watching soccer, or watching Peruvian shows on YouTube.
