I am glad I got an appointment the next day due to a cancelation.
Thank you
Dr Osayande
For the past seven months, I had been dealing with brutal heartburn—to the point where I couldn’t sleep at night. Like many people, I made the mistake of consulting Dr. Google (which I do not recommend), and I became terrified—reading about everything from esophageal cancer to other serious conditions.
I initially saw my PCP, who prescribed medicine and told me taking Tums was fine, but I wasn’t getting real relief. I had reached my breaking point and decided I needed to see a specialist who truly understood my concerns.
As a Black woman, I wanted a Black doctor who specialized in gastroenterology, knowing that different ethnic groups have unique health factors that need to be considered. That’s when I found Dr. O, and I am beyond grateful.
Why Dr. O & Her Team Are Exceptional:
✅ Same-Week Appointment! – I called over SEVEN gastroenterologists, and the earliest appointment anyone else had was March. Dr. O’s office got me in within two days! That alone was a WOW factor.
✅ Efficient & Caring Staff – The office runs smoothly and professionally. No long waits, no wondering if they forgot about you—just prompt, attentive, and compassionate care.
✅ Reassurance & Expertise – Dr. O immediately put my worries at ease. She explained that heartburn is common but that I needed a stronger medication to manage it properly.
✅ Personalized Treatment Plan – Instead of pushing unnecessary procedures, she listened to my concerns and worked with me to find the best approach for my lifestyle.
The Treatment That Changed Everything 💊
Dr. O prescribed me a stronger medication, and within just three weeks, my symptoms dramatically improved. I now take it every other day (so I don’t become dependent on medication), and I finally feel like myself again.
She also suggested an EGD procedure to assess my condition further, but as a global speaker and event organizer, I couldn’t afford to be down for 14+ days when I had a major speaking engagement coming up. Instead, we agreed to start with medication first, and I’ll follow up in six months.
The best part? I can now eat without fear. Something as simple as a banana no longer triggers painful heartburn.
Final Thoughts: If You Need a Gastroenterologist, See Dr. O!
I am beyond grateful for Dr. O and her team. If you’re looking for a specialist who listens, cares, and actually provides solutions, she is THE doctor to see.
👏 Thank you, Dr. O, for restoring my health and peace of mind. You and your amazing team have a patient for life!
