About Juan Martinez, M.D.
Dr. Juan Martinez grew up in Laredo, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he graduated with honors and received a Bachelor of Science in 2000. He earned his Doctor of Medicine in 2004 from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training at University of Texas Medical Branch in 2008 where he was intern of the year. He also received Alpha Omega Alpha Honors. Dr. Martinez served as Chief Resident and Assistant Professor at University of Texas Medical Branch following his residency. He went on to complete his fellowship training in Gastroenterology at Baylor University Medical Center from 2008-2011.
Dr. Martinez is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. His areas of special interest in the practice of gastroenterology include the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease and prevention and early detection of colorectal cancer through screening colonoscopy. He performs a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the hospital and in the ambulatory surgery center settings.
Dr. Martinez lives in Dallas with his wife and son. Away from the office, he enjoys running, basketball and spending time with his family.

Dr. Martinez is always kind and professional. He is thorough in his screenings and provides good feedback. He is quite busy so it is hard to get an appointment with him quickly. It is always a few weeks out. However his PAs are very helpful for immediate needs.
Had a follow-up appt. Dr. Martinez is the nicest doctor and he talks through everything. His explanations are easy to understand.
