About Hays L. Arnold, M.D.
Dr. Arnold, a former Lieutenant Colonel who served in the US Army for more than 11 years, joined our practice in July 2010. Dr. Arnold is skilled in all areas of gastroenterology, with special expertise in inflammatory bowel disease and GERD. Describing himself as nationalistic, or someone whose pride in his country moves him to action, Dr. Arnold was stationed at Brooke Army Medical Center, serving most recently as Chief of Clinical Services in the Gastroenterology Division. He was deployed in 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Dr. Arnold is most passionate about teaching others, whether he’s instructing his patients about their health care choices or encouraging a medical student during challenging situations. Early on, Dr. Arnold gravitated toward medicine, even though he had an appointment to attend West Point and recruitments to play football. He most looked forward to being able to help and teach those around him. In his spare time, he enjoys participating in his children’s sporting activities and tackling home renovation projects. Dr. Arnold is married and has 4 children.

Reviews
Dr. Arnold and, for a better term, his team, were excellent. First of all, availability of information was easy to attain. Just a phone call to his office and there was always someone to answer questions or clarify instructions. Two follow up calls and emails to remind me of the upcoming procedure were welcome. Some may not appreciate that but I did! I arrived at the assigned time, filled out a little paperwork, was questioned by the nurse ensuring I had done what I was supposed to as far as eating and the "cleanse" medication. I was quickly escorted to the prep room, got the IV going, nice stick thanks! Anesthesiologist came in and talked to me. They rolled me in the OR and once I was put under, don't remember a thing. Woke up easily and Dr. Arnold talked to me, gave me a copy of his findings and discussed them with me. After that, I was off to go eat at Able's Diner after a 36 hour fast. No issues at all following the procedure. I had two follow up calls and I will have another colonoscopy in 5 years as three polyps were pre C. Over all, an excellent experience and I would highly recommend Dr. Arnold and his team! .
Dr Hays provided an outstanding care and explained procedure in s simple way that was easy to understand.
Dr Arnold and the entire crew was great. I like most people, are generally not real comfortable with the whole process. Would recommend the practice and Dr Arnold to everyone. Thanks
Recently I had a follow up appointment with Dr. Arnold and as always he was prompt and professional in dealing with my issue. He is so caring and listens intently to my concerns and speaks in layman’s terms as to be sure I understand what he is explaining. He also never seems rushed and is willing to take whatever time it takes to easy any concerns you may have. I cannot recommend him highly enough. About 13 years ago he discovered a life threatening condition that was remedied and has been following up with me since that time. Dr. Arnold is certainly a keeper.
Always professional and courteous, doctors and staff
