About Hays L. Arnold, M.D.
Dr. Arnold, a former Lieutenant Colonel who served in the US Army for more than 11 years, joined our practice in July 2010. Dr. Arnold is skilled in all areas of gastroenterology, with special expertise in inflammatory bowel disease and GERD. Describing himself as nationalistic, or someone whose pride in his country moves him to action, Dr. Arnold was stationed at Brooke Army Medical Center, serving most recently as Chief of Clinical Services in the Gastroenterology Division. He was deployed in 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Dr. Arnold is most passionate about teaching others, whether he’s instructing his patients about their health care choices or encouraging a medical student during challenging situations. Early on, Dr. Arnold gravitated toward medicine, even though he had an appointment to attend West Point and recruitments to play football. He most looked forward to being able to help and teach those around him. In his spare time, he enjoys participating in his children’s sporting activities and tackling home renovation projects. Dr. Arnold is married and has 4 children.

Anyone who has experienced a colonoscopy knows how much fun the prep for this procedure is!! While I find it a pain in the neck to prepare, I know the great medical professionals are going to take excellent care of me when I come into the clinic for this procedure. Each person encountered from the time I entered the front door of the clinic to the time I am escorted to my ride home, I received professional, caring, knowledgeable, and experienced care provided by a myriad of people. Each person greeted me with a smile and treated me like I was someone important!! While they are kind and caring, my safety and health are paramount in each of their actions during the procedure process. Dr. Hays Arnold had a most assuring bed side manner and wanted me to be comfortable, confident, and that I was not worried about one detail of my procedure. He came to speak to me before and after my procedure and explained all the details to me in plain layman's terminology. I have great CONFIDENCE and TRUST in Dr. Hays Arnold to provide me with a professional procedure and that is exactly what I received every time.
