About Gregg Wendorf, M.D.
Dr. Gregg Wendorf, a South Texas native, was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. He received his MD from UT Health San Antonio while also earning his Master of Public Health. After medical school, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY. Dr. Wendorf was honored to serve as Chief Fellow during his final year of fellowship.
Dr. Wendorf is excited to return to San Antonio and join GCSA and looks forward to forming lasting relationships with his patients and helping treat a wide variety of illnesses. He is skilled in all areas of gastroenterology with special interest in functional bowel disorders such as IBS, motility disorders such as gastroparesis, and liver diseases including Hepatitis C, fatty liver, and cirrhosis. Dr. Wendorf is also skilled in the placement and management of feeding tubes in patients with strokes or other neurologic disorders.
Dr. Wendorf is a married father of two. When not working, he enjoys traveling with his
family, reading, and sampling the local breweries and restaurants.

A big thank you to Dr. Wendorf and his team. Everyone was so courteous and professional. They were very patient and understanding and took time to answer questions that I had. I especially appreciated how quickly I went from checking in to being seen.
Great people got what I needed done with good explanation
Dr. Wendorf and staff, were very welcoming and setting a tone of ease. He listened with intent as to my issues and then to explain plan of action moving forward. Procedure was scheduled within a week. I think, so far 😊, anyone would be pleased being a patient of Dr. Wendorf.
The appointment I went was actually good.
Dr. Wendorf has been my doctor since 2022 as I was diagnosed with gastroparesis and intestinal dysmotality in 2021. He is very understanding and helpful and listens to me and considers all avenues as it pertains to my care. He responds back quickly when I’m in need of something pertaining to my weight and nutrition. Having him as a doctor makes living with this disease tolerable and I’m thankful for him.
