About Gary Taavi Reiss, M.D.
Gary Reiss received his medical degree from Louisiana State University in New Orleans in 2002 after graduating from Stanford University. He received his Masters Degree of Public Health from Louisiana State University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of New Orleans. After completing his internal medicine residency at Stanford University Hospital, he did a gastroenterology fellowship at the Tulane University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Once completing fellowship, Dr. Reiss undertook additional specialized training in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). In addition to standard endoscopic procedures, Dr. Reiss performs HALO ablation of Barrett’s esophagus, hemorrhoidal treatment, liver biopsy and Bravo acid reflux testing.
Dr. Reiss has been practicing in Marrero since 2008. He is Board Certified in gastroenterology, and is a member of several GI societies including the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Society and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is well published in a variety of professional journals. He has been recognized as a professional with outstanding abilities and featured in the “Best Doctors” issue of New Orleans Magazine.

I cannot express how much gratitude I feel towards Dr. Reiss and his team during my recent endoscopy and colonoscopy. I don’t believe I have EVER been treated with so much kindness and compassion. Everyone went above and beyond! I have recommended Dr. Reiss to family and friends. He is thorough, professional and has a wonderful bedside manner. I feel so fortunate be under his care. He is SIMPLY THE BEST!
Dr. Reiss and his team were very good and professional. Dr. Reiss explain everything step by step what was going to take place. My appointment was for 9am. My only complaint is that it took they 70 minutes later from my appointment time to be called to the back. Also it took another 55 minutes to be rolled into the procedure room.
The doctor and his staff were very friendly. They explained everything very well, and were very helpful.
