Honolulu, Hawaii native, Dr. Ernest J. Orinion serves on the Board of Managers for the Endoscopy Center at St. Francis and as a Physician Facilitator for Franciscan St. Francis Health Indianapolis Endoscopy. He sees patients in Indianapolis, Shelbyville, and Greensburg. A former teacher of Biology and Physics at Cantwell Sacred Heart High School in Los Angeles, Dr. Orinion continues to teach, focusing his energies towards medical education. Annually, he participates in the St. Francis Family Practice Residency Program lecture series speaking on topics in gastroenterology and works individually with family practice residents during GI rotations.
Dr. Orinion graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, and spent two years teaching prior to enrolling in medical school. He graduated from the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska 1998. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Indiana University Medical Center. In 2005 he joined Indianapolis Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Dr. Orinion is a member of the Indianapolis Medical Society, the American Medical Association and the American Gastroenterological Association. His hobbies include golf, hiking, camping, and Indianapolis Colts football which he shares with his wife and children.
