Why Gastroenterology?

During medical school, I became interested in gastroenterology because of the wide range of symptoms and diseases it encompasses. Later, I was also drawn to the hands-on procedures that let gastroenterologists both diagnose and treat problems, as well as the important role the field plays in preventing colorectal cancer. The chronic nature of many gastrointestinal conditions also offered me the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients as we manage their care over time.

Specialization

I enjoy treating a wide range of conditions within gastroenterology and hepatology. My interests include the treatment of general GI disorders such as GERD, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), celiac disease, and the prevention of colorectal cancer.

What Can Patients Expect?

During the initial visit, I focus on listening to the patient’s concerns and symptoms so that I can best understand how we can work together towards a diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Provider Interests

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and exploring new places. I’m also an avid skier, a big sports fan – especially football – and love spending time with my nieces and family!
