About Dustin Kiker, M.D.
Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
Gastroenterology, to me, is a unique field of study. It encompasses entities and disorders both simple and profoundly complex. It is this as well as the chance to interact with patients with differing disorders and problems, the need for refined and precise technique and skill in procedures, and the allowance of significant intellectual challenges that drew me to this field. I enjoy and cherish the opportunity to carry out my practice goals which include the offering of straight forward, honest, complete, and compassionate care for all patients with gastrointestinal disease while at the same time striving for continued personal as well as professional growth and learning.
Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?
I practice and enjoy all aspects of Gastroenterology. I am especially interested and subspecialty trained in pancreas and biliary disorders. I perform general endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, capsule endoscopy, as well as many other specialty procedures.
Where did you study?
I studied medicine and did all of my training, both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, at The University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio, Texas.
What certifications do you hold?
Board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. I am specialty trained in advanced and therapeutic endoscopy.
What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, trail and endurance running, and spending time with my family.
Do you have any special honors or recognitions in your medical career that you would like to share?

Reviews
I’m so grateful for Dr. Kiker! After a year of pain and visiting many other doctors, he was the doctor that took me seriously and helped resolve my health issue. I highly recommend him!
As a patient with Crohn’s disease, I have visited multiple GI doctors in the Austin area in attempt to find quality care. Dr. Kiker was one of the first to review my history, truly listen to my experience/concerns, and provide thorough explanations of his recommendations and considerations. He did not rush through our visit and provided a comfortable, concerned environment. After trialing multiple GI’s, I am relieved to say I feel confident about continuing care with Dr. Kiker and his team.
Dr. Kiker is so down to earth. He never made me feel bad for any of my poor habits, or anything I was going through. Very genuine and great doctor.
This is a friendly environment and the staff such great sense of humor.
I took my mom Sarabjit to Dr. Kiker for her stomach issue, he was very kind and listened to us very carefully and scheduled the right procedure!!
