About David Valadez, M.D.
Dr. Valadez is originally from Austin and graduated from McNeil High School. He attended the University of Texas, where he was a member of the Longhorn Marching Band. After graduating from UT, he completed medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He earned his Master of Public Health degree through the UT School of Public Health.
While completing his internal medicine residency at UT Health San Antonio, Dr. Valadez developed an interest in gastroenterology. He participated in multiple research projects and presented at national academic conferences. He was selected to be a Chief Resident and supervised a quality improvement project to improve care for patients with liver disease.
After residency, Dr. Valadez moved to Kansas City and completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Kansas. He trained under leading experts in the field and developed further interests in patients with swallowing difficulties, gastrointestinal bleeding, chronic pain and motility disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, and cirrhosis.
Outside of work, Dr. Valadez enjoys spending time with his wife and two energetic kids.
