David Spady, MD, will be retiring on December 31, 2025, after many years of dedicated service and compassionate care.

Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
Gastroenterology is a broad field that has several diverse conditions. It hosts many challenges and intricate problems, which allows me to continually learn and improve my care.
Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?
Colon cancer screening.
Where did you study?
I attended Walla Walla University for my undergraduate studies and received my medical degree from Loma Linda University in 1976. I completed my internal medicine training at Loma Linda University in 1979. I completed my fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Texas
Southwestern Medical Center.
What certifications do you hold?
Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my wife and four children. My main hobbies are sports and music.
Do you have any special honors or recognition in your medical career that you would like to share?
Full time professor of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center from 1984-2001.
