About David Pryor Jones, D.O.

A former Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army, Dr. Jones proudly served in Iraq in 2008 as Chief of Medical Services and Acting Deputy Commander of Clinical Services. From 2005-2010, Dr. Jones served as Chief of Gastroenterology at Brooke Army Medical Center, one of the largest gastroenterology fellowship training centers in the country. His commitment to ensuring the highest quality training of GI physicians as well as fostering patient-centered education is evident by his continued service at the national level on the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Training Committee.

At an early age, Dr. Jones was faced with a decision: pursue a career in music or study medicine. Despite his love for playing the piano and guitar, he found his life’s calling as a gastroenterologist. Dr. Jones is passionate about quality health care and through his role on the American College of Gastroenterology’s Patient Care Committee, empowers his patients to become active participants in their own healthcare decisions. Dr. Jones is married and has 3 wonderful children. He enjoys participating in his children’s sporting events and continues to play the piano and guitar.

Reviews

I started having colonoscopies about every six months at the age of 19, and Dr. Jones has been great every step of the way. He accomodates your preferences for choice of prep, explains the process to you (not that this is necessary in my situation anymore), makes funny jokes and small talk before giving you the best nap of your life, and explains the results to you once you wake up (most likely with an apple juice juicebox) in a very down-to-earth understandable way––no medical jargon here. Dr. Jones is really my only choice for colonoscopies; enough so that, even though I no longer live in Texas, I still fly back to have him do my procedure (although, this is also because I don't believe there needs to be another name on the list of people who have been in the––unfortunate––position of giving me a colonscopy, especially so often).

Dr. Price has performed two procedures for me in the past. He is highly professional, thorough, and competent. He explains everything and answers all questions in a relaxed, conversational tone. He never appears to be in hurry. Overall, I would rate him 10 out of 10, and highly recommend him for the finest in gastrointestinal care.

I just recently had my third colonoscopy procedure with GCSA at their Northeast location by Dr David Jones. Dr Jones and the entire staff at this location are absolutely the best at what they do. Check in was great, and prep for the procedure was thoroughly explained by very personable individuals who genuinely care for their patients. Dr Jones personally sees his patients before they leave, shows images and expIains results. If you're at the age where you should get a colonoscopy, I highly recommend you make an appointment with this superior doctor and medical organization.

Dr. Jones explained everything to me and was well knowledgeable.

Everyone was so nice and that made an uncomfortable experience much more relaxing. I don’t know anyone that likes to get a colonoscopy but having people make you more comfortable really helps.
