About Daniel Greenwald, M.D.

Dr. Daniel Greenwald is a Board Certified gastroenterologist who has an interest in general Gastroenterology and enjoys treating all major GI disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and liver disease. He enjoys performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including routine colorectal cancer screening, polyp resection and also performing therapy for Barrett's esophagus with cryotherapy.

Dr. Greenwald is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Brown Medical School, a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, and a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Greenwald routinely lectures locally for medical students and residents at Brown as well as internationally for medical students on the subject of GI.


Dr. Greenwald enjoys getting to know his patients and developing a lasting, long term doctor-patient relationship. He also appreciates the hands-on aspects of diagnosing and treating GI disorders, and the ability to help patients improve their quality of life through meaningful intervention.

Dr. Greenwald graduated with his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. From there, he attended Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (now known as Beth Israel Lahey Health) for his Medical Residency. Dr. Greenwald completed his Medical Fellowship at Yale New Haven Health/Bridgeport Hospital.

A native of New England, having grown up in Connecticut, he enjoys the coastal lifestyle of Rhode Island, especially enjoying the outdoors with his wife, two daughters, and dog.
