Q&A With Dr. Dominguez
Question: Why Did You Get Into Healthcare?
Dr. Dominguez: I realized I had a calling to help those who are sick. When I was young, my grandfather started feeling sick and was later diagnosed with gastric cancer. I was eager to help him in any way I could. I would accompany him to his doctor’s appointments so I could explain to my family what the doctors had said. When he finally passed away, I knew I wanted to become a doctor so I could take care of people like my grandfather and make an impact in their life and their family.
Question: What Drew You To Gastroenterology?
Dr. Dominguez: During my third year of medical school, I had the opportunity to rotate through a 2-week gastroenterology elective. One day I went to the ER to see a patient who was having GI bleeding. The patient needed an emergent upper endoscopy where we found him to have a bleeding stomach ulcer. I was amazed at how the GI attending handled scope and how quickly he “put out the fire” as he swiftly stopped the bleeding stomach ulcer to save the man’s life. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to become a gastroenterologist.

Me ha atendido muy satisfactoriamente mi problema de esófago de barret y logró dilatar mi esófago de manera que ahora puedo tomar alimento, cosa que estaba batallando mucho del año 2022 en adelante, ya que tenía contraído mi esófago muy severamente, actualmente ya no tengo ese problema gracias a Dios y al Dr. Domínguez. Dr. Dominguez is one of the best physicians I have ever encountered in my lifetime. During my 1st visit with him, he introduced himself and immediately expressed his condolences for a very recent loss that I endured. He heard my every concern and was reassuring and empathetic. His knowledge and expertise is top tier. He knows exactly how he can best help his patients and he’s very sincere while doing so. I am so grateful to have him on my health journey, he’s truly the greatest!!! His staff is also super lovely and very helpful!

What an amazing experience this has been. Dr. Dominguez is the kind of doctor you would want in your corner during a stressful situation. Knowledgeable, empathetic and available to all your questions. Amazing bed side manners.
Went in for a colonoscopy and endoscopy for the first time. His explanations were clear and exhaustive, his stuff was super friendly and accommodating. My check in was at 8.30 and by 10.30 it was all done and I was awake and ready to go home.
He followed up with me after the procedure to make sure I was ok. All the paperwork for the prep and post procedure was clear and on point. I really don't know what else I could have wished for... oh yea, the doc speaks Spanish if you need it! 5 stars plus! 🌟

Loved the quality of care, consistent communication and thoughtful followup - had both upper and lower GI scoped. Growing old sucks, but when I need my next colonoscopy checkin, I’ll be coming back here!
