About Carl Calandra, D.O.
Dr. Calandra is a board-certified gastroenterologist with Hinsdale Gastroenterology Associates/IGG Hinsdale. He performs routine GI procedures such as upper endoscopy, ERCP, and colonoscopy in the diagnosis, screening and surveillance of gastrointestinal diseases and cancers. Dr. Calandra received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1995 and his medical degree from Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center in 2001. At Loyola University Medical Center, Dr. Calandra completed his residency in internal medicine in 2004, followed by his fellowship in gastroenterology in 2007. He then joined Digestive Disease Associates in Hinsdale the same year. He is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association.

Gastroenterology allowed me to pursue my academic interest in order to take care of my patients in a variety of health care settings for a variety of medical problems.
What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy running, cooking, and coaching you kids in a variety of sports.
