Amr Arar, MD earned his medical degree from UT Health San Antonio, where he graduated first in his class with honors, and completed his residency training at the University of Colorado.

Dr. Arar has extensive experience in gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease, endoscopy, and quality improvement initiatives. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented research at national conferences, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and advancing evidence-based digestive healthcare. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as a Leadership in Informatics, Quality, and Systems Fellow, developing innovative approaches to healthcare delivery and patient care.

His commitment to preventing gastrointestinal cancers is deeply personal. After losing his mom to cancer, he saw firsthand the impact the disease has on patients and their families, as well as the difference a compassionate medical team can make during a difficult time. That experience shaped Dr. Arar’s path to medicine and continues to inspire his dedication to prevention, early detection, and patient-centered care.

His patients are the reason Dr. Arar loves what he does. He enjoys working with patients, listening to their concerns, and developing a comprehensive care plan so they can live healthier lives. Dr. Arar is honored to serve the San Antonio community that he has called home all his life.
