About Ammar Nassri, MD
About Ammar Nassri, MD
Dr. Ammar Nassri is a certified gastroenterologist who treats a wide range of gastrointestinal issues. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and has a particular interest in the interplay between obesity and MASLD (metabolic-associated fatty liver disease). He also has a deep interest in managing patients with cirrhosis and specializes in performing complex resections of pre-cancerous colon lesions through endoscopic mucosal resection.
Dr. Nassri chose gastroenterology because of its broad scope, spanning multiple organs and specialties, including cancer care, autoimmune disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding, organ transplants, and motility disorders. He values the unique combination of outpatient care, long-term relationships with patients, and the opportunity to intervene directly in diseases. Of particular appeal to him is that Gastroenterology is one specialty where cancer can be screened for, resected, and prevented.
As a physician, Dr. Nassri emphasizes evidence-based medicine and shared decision-making. He believes in thoroughly educating his patients, ensuring they fully understand their conditions, treatment options, and the latest research that can impact their care.
In his personal time, Dr. Ammar enjoys reading (fantasy and philosophy), hiking, traveling, exploring new cuisines, and spending time with his wife and two boys.
