About Alejandro Pruitt, M.D.
Dr. Pruitt joined our practice in 2006 after serving for over 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He spent his last 13 years at Wilford Hall Medical Center, where he was a key faculty member responsible for the training of over 30 gastroenterologists during his tenure. Dr. Pruitt enjoys all aspects of gastroenterology, but he has a special interest in esophageal pancreatic, and biliary diseases, as well as advanced therapeutic endoscopy, performing over 1000 advanced procedures annually on patients referred from throughout south Texas. He has expertise in endoluminal stenting for the palliation of obstructing tumors or repair of leaks and fistulas, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) for the removal of early esophageal and gastric tumors, radiofrequency ablation of Barrett’s esophagus (HALO), and complex biliary and pancreatic endoscopy (ERCP) to include Spyglass with EHL, sphincter of Oddi manometry, and ampullectomy. He is also highly regarded for his radial and linear endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) skills offering tumor staging, tumor targeting for radiosurgery, and palliation of abdominal cancer pain with celiac neurolysis. Dr Pruitt is active in several professional organizations, and he has continued to teach gastroenterology fellows advanced endoscopy skills in the private practice setting. He is an active member of St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and participates in several outreach programs with his wife, Kimberly, and their children.

Reviews
Had my first remote consultation via phone and got some tests scheduled without a problem. It's great that I live in another city and they were able to work with me. Contacting them via phone is no problem, always respond back in a reasonable time frame. Highly recommend 👍
Dr. Pruitt is at the top of his profession. Everything in the past and this time as well goes like clockwork. He is courteous and keeps me constantly informed before and after the procedures. I would add that the staff, nurses, assistants and anesthesiologists follow his lead and demeanor as mentioned above.
Everybody was super nice and friendly. This was my first colonoscopy, and I was feeling pretty bad walking in and also very nervous about the procedure. I was relaxed knowing that all my questions were answered, and the anesthesiologist explained everything which made me feel a lot more comfortable. The nurses were great and extremely helpful. They were extremely busy but were always helpful with any questions I had. Dr. Pruitt was also extremely nice and that made me feel comfortable as well. He also gave me great advice to treat the bloating problem that I had, and I am doing much better...
All the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Dr Pruitt is well known in the pancreatic cancer community of doctors. I would not trust anyone else to monitor my genetically linked cancer. I’ve had 5 immediate family members die from this disease and I want to check and find it immediately.
Awesome experience. Appointment went seemlessly.
