They had the BEST customer service I’ve ever experience in a doctors office. They were very caring helpful and always kept your mind at ease about the procedure that was coming up!! From the time I arrive to the time I left was nothing but Awesome, Great, Customer Patient service. This is a place that all patients having this type of procedure done would want to experience. From the front staff, up front to the Nurses and Doctor’s, Anesthesiologists we’re all caring, concerned about the patient being at ease through out the entire process wanting to make sure the patient was at ease with any concerns or questions they might have of the procedure they were going to get done!! If you are going to get this type of procedure done, and you want your mind at ease and making sure you are going to be treat with caring hands this is the place to do it at!!! This procedure was scaring and very frightening to me. But this clinic just did away with all of that. By the way they treated me and had actual concern for my well being!!! It was an Awesome and Great place to have been referred to by my doctor. Kiddos to my doctor for having done that!! "Seemless. It was a colonoscopy so of course the prep I had to take was awful but everything else was great. They actually called the night before and moved up my procedure to 8 am. 10 minutes of paperwork and then 2 minutes of waiting. Went into back was prepped and an IV in within another 10 minutes. Was visited by 2 nurses and the anesthesiologist within minutes. Rolled into procedure room within 20 minutes of being called into back. talked to Dr. Cavazos and anesthesiologist briefly. Woke up in recovery and Dr. Cavazos came to see me. Told me everything that happened during procedure and if I had questions. Was on my way home by 9:30 am. Honestly cannot imagine a more efficient if not pleasant experience. Thank you to Dr. Cavazos and staff!!! See you in 7 years"

"After coming to SA in June 2020 Houston my new doctor at HealthTexas-Wurzbach saw that it was time for my 5 year follow-up colonoscopy (2nd one). I decided to rely on her suggestion and after researching Dr Cavazos at Gastroenterology Consultants of San Antonio made my appointment asap. I will say the experience and customer service of everyone involved was exceptional. The process was fairly easy. They had a patient portal that was easy to use and correspond with. Every person was very careful to listen and answer all my questions no matter how trivial they might of seemed to some. All were attentive and cordial. Since I had one done previously and was able to answer their preliminary medical history questions over the phone I didn't have to make an in office appointment/visit which was a bonus. They asked for my insurance information and then within a few days sent via Mail the prep medicine for the procedure. Again, very simple, they used their pharmacy who sent it to me. From the time I called it was 2 weeks later when I had my procedure. I took the prep medicine and diet they suggested 2 days prior & they even emailed & called prior to my procedure making sure all was going well and I was doing my part. I had scheduled mine early in the AM for 745am arrival. The morning of my scope I got a call at 7am that they had cancellations and could I come now. Luckily I was 5 minutes away from their office, up and ready. My wife drove me over, we entered a slightly crowded waiting room (there are numerous doctors available to see) the paper work and registration was painless and within 10min I was escorted into the preop room for the procedure. Questions from the anesthesiologist, nurses and Dr Cavazos were all done fairly quickly and before I knew it I was under. What seemed like 5min was actually 45-60mins later & I was waking up. Within 30-40 min later I was out of there. Prior to leaving Dr Cavazos came over, explained what he saw, found and stated he'd send over his findings/report to my doctor at HealthTexas. I'm sure anyone there at this place will do just as well a job as any. My experience was great and I highly recommend them-especially Dr. Cavazos and his team. I will see him in 5 years!"

"Having had previous gastro issues which Dr. Cavazos corrected, I decided to have him perform my colonoscopy. My previous four colonoscopies were performed at military hospitals where drinking two gallons of preparation fluid was a nightmare. With Dr. Cavazos’ prescription of drinking only two pints of “cleanser” with two 16-ounce glasses of water after each pint over a 12-hour period, the preparation was so much easier -- and tasted better. The pre-op portion of the procedure was conducted by 3-4 nurses who were personable, professional, and patient oriented. Dr. Cavazos visited me before the procedure, along with the anesthesiologist, to explain the process. I was wheeled into the room and given a dose of “go-to-sleep” medicine. I awoke in recovery with other excellent nurses caring for me. Dr. Cavazos came by to give me some really good news. I did not have any strictures, vascular lesions, polyps, worm trails, or evidence of malignancy. AND, he recommended no future colonoscopies were necessary! My advice to anyone “needing” a colonoscopy would be to ask for Dr. Jorge Cavazos."

"I called Dr. Cavazos office for an appointment on Monday afternoon, I was scheduled the next day, which I thought was just good timing. The day of my appointment I was happy to find the office is easily accessible, it has it's own front lot parking and I experienced hardly no wait to be seen. The doctor was attentive to my symptoms, an outpatient procedure was ordered & scheduled for the following Tuesday. On the day of my procedure, I was checked in, offered a payment plan which was not necessary but appreciated and quickly checked in and prepped for my colonoscopy. Dr Cavazos was intuitive when it came to my nervousness and he and his staff put my concerns to rest, even assuring a female would be present in the room during the procedure. I only remember waking up and being told my spouse would be in shortly, after getting dressed, the doctor came in and discussed the results & next steps, pretty perfect scenario!"

Got there 10 mins early in case of paperwork etc. At about 9:30, since I hadn't been called, asked the front desk what was going on. She informed me that I was scheduled for 9:40. At approx. 10:15, I was finally called to the pre-op. I feel that a wait time of nearly an hour and a half, with no information is entirely unprofessional. I can appreciate unanticipated situations arising which can "back things up". However, an explanation would be appropriate. Dr. Cavazos is truly a fine doctor who should have some better support from the staff when it comes to patient communication."
