"I had a great experience at Gastroenterology Consultants of San Antonio, particularly with Dr. Harsh Patel. There is a history of colorectal cancer in my family, so I went in for a colonoscopy at a younger age than is recommended. I was concerned about what the screening might reveal, and about insurance coverage due to my younger age. Dr. Patel took the time to explain everything to me and answer all of my questions. He also assured me that the office would help me navigate the insurance issue. It was clear that he had fully read my chart the day of the procedure because he again addressed the concerns I shared with him when I went for my first appointment, nearly a month before. He and the staff have wonderful bedside manners and make their patients feel like people, not like numbers. I highly recommend Gastroenterology Consultants of San Antonio and Dr. Patel."

"Gastroenterology has quite the set up. Having a colonoscopy isn't the greatest experience in the world ... but their efficiency helps it to go as smoothly as possible. The nurses were all as congenial as they could be. Dr Harsh Patel was very kind and hoped he could "graduate" me from the system!?! Unfortutely ... or fortunately as the case may be ... Dr Patel did have to remove some polyps so no graduation from Colonoscopy School!!! As you can tell, their staff and doctors are outstanding and I will be going back in 5 years."

Even though the first appointment felt a little rushed (very busy at the office) he was thorough with his questions and responses and I didn't feel like I was wasting his time. On the day of my procedure and during the first appointment I appreciated that he didn't want me to start on any harsh medications or call for any unnecessary procedures despite not knowing the cause of my discomfort. Even though the cause of my discomfort is still unknown, he helped me to feel more reassured leaving the procedure than I have felt in months."

The staff works quickly and are friendly. For my initial appt, I was in and out within 45 min. and for my procedure, waiting time was at most 15 min until I was called in and then from there the rest of the process took maybe about an hour. Very quick service. I plan on continuing my services there even though I have to travel a little over 2 hours to get there. But very well worth it!"

"First time seeing Dr. Patel and I totally loved it. I drove 4 hours to get there and love that the receptionist asked about my drive. They called me in within minutes of checking in and didn't have to wait 30 minutes for the dr to see me in the room he didn't take long at all.. I had never been so happy with a Dr's office like this one. I actually spoke to Dr. Patel he gave me so much more information than the nurse practitioner's that I would always talk to at my previous dr's office. Dr. Patel talked to me to where I understood what he was telling me let me ask questions and actually had answers for me. This is now my new Dr. I don't mind driving 4 hours to see him. "I arrived a few minutes early and the check in was fast and efficient. I was back in the holding area in a matter of minutes. Shortly thereafter, I completed the nursing intake information, spoke with the nurse anesthetist and had an IV started. The procedure, the effects of the sedative and post discharge information was clearly explained. Dr. Patel made sure to explain what I could expect and ensure any questions or concerns were addressed. My favorite part was that we started on time. I do not remember the procedure and I was being picked up 1 hour 10 minutes after I was dropped off. The bowel prep was delivered to my house with clear instructions on how to prepare for the procedure. I was very impressed with the professionalism, efficiency, and kind attitude of everyone. The experience of having a colonoscopy was easier than I had anticipated and it was not at all traumatic or uncomfortable. I encourage everyone to get their first colonoscopy as advised based on age and risk factors."
