"The process of the procedure is smooth from checking in all the way to getting out. The staff are superb with their bed manners...they let you know what they will do and follow through. I was asleep during the entire procedure and went home feeling like nothing happened! A staff called the day after to check and see how I was doing. "I was apprehensive about having to go thru a colonoscopy. I hadn’t ever been under anesthesia or had any procedures, previously.. Dr. McMyler and all the staff were amazing. Each step was explained by the appropriate staff member and they asked for questions or any concerns and each staff member went on to the next person. It was a giant well oiled machine. I was comfortable and well informed the whole time. For what it was, it was overall not bad for a medical preventative procedure."

"My experience with Dr. McMylar was excellent. The office offices a screening questionnaire to determine whether or not an office visit is required prior to a screening procedure. Dr. McMylar recommended an endoscopy to me as well as a colonoscopy based on prior and family history. She explained the realist thoroughly and was quite prompt in forwarding the lab results. I deducted one star because I think we should be offered a selection of preparatory products and not just one whose only commendation was that "it lets you drink less." Well, it doesn't because you have to keep drinking more clear liquids right up to quitting time. The pharmacy they use is good and advised me that I could save 40% by buying it direct instead of going through my insurance - that was a plus. Prep for these procedures is never pleasant, but next time I will request a different med."

"The procedure (Colonoscopy) was timely From the time I walked in to the time I walked out. The team was knowledgeable and competent. They were expecting me, and each member knew what to do and instructed me as to what was going on. Of course, the worse part of the procedure was the day before with the prep. However, doing it right, made the procedure a success, and had no issues the next day. At the end, Dr. McMyler went through the entire results with pictures and explanation, I'm not say I enjoyed it, but it was necessary, and the whole team made it as simple and efficient as possible, I highly recommend them."

However, my experience with Dr. McMyler this time around was much easier and better than past times with others. The prep was easy to do. The check in process was quick, and the whole process moved like a well oiled machine. Quick preliminary processes with all needed information given, out in seconds and woke up quickly after procedure and did not feel groggy from the anesthesia. Dr. McMyler let me know results right away and sent me home with copies of the results. I can't say enough about how professional all the staff were. "I had an excellent experience with Dr. McMyler and Gastroenterology Consultants of San Antonio. When I realized my colonoscopy was due and I'd already met my deductible for the year, the staff went above and beyond to get me in before Christmas. They helped me get all the paperwork completed well in advance. I spent exactly ZERO seconds sitting in the waiting room after I arrived! I spent about TWO minutes waiting in the next room before I was called for the procedure. The staff here is so good at what they do, working as a team to explain the process, the instructions, the risks, etc. The next thing I know, I was waking up and being shown the photos of my procedure and reassured that all was well. Because of Dr. McMyler and the staff, this procedure was barely a blip in my week and they made it easy to take care of really important preventive care that can be less than fun. Glad I got it taken care of."

"I have been a patient of Dr. Donna McMyler since May, 2009. I trust her implicitly not just because she is a great doctor, but because she is caring and professional. As a person who is not expressly overly fond of doctors, Dr. McMyler has made every visit, whether office or procedure, extremely calming. My most distinct favorable trait is the fact she listens. During the pandemic, I was severely sick. I had extreme nausea, severe stomach and bowel pain, as well as green feces. Dr. McMyler was sympathetic and told me not to worry. Following a home stool study test, I was diagnosed with Adult RSV. Once again, Dr. McMyler prescribed the right medicine. Within two weeks, my system was back to normal. Dr. McMyler and her staff are courteous, professional, attentive, and caring. I have recommended her to several friends, and they, too, have become long-standing patients. If you are suffering from any type of stomach, bowel, or colon problem, I highly recommend Dr. McMyler. You will not be disappointed."

"My 1st colonoscopy was done on March 24, 2022. Dr. McMyler had a nice bed side manner before and after. A few days prior to the procedure, I received related calls, texts and emails to ensure I was on track with the preparation. I was a little nervous that I called to ensure I was doing everything right. Her staff was always pleasant. Yep, the drink is weird (like funky kool-aid), and the "going" is like a bad food experience at NIOSA. Worst part (for me), was feeling so terribly thirsty bf the procedure so we took a huge thermos of iced water for me to gulp after. Advice: GET IT DONE, don't wait, no excuses and do it early in the morning if you can, but don't let that stop you either. Today, I feel better that it's over with. "The most horrible experience in my life to try to schedule an appointment ! ! After my assistant waiting on line for 50 minutes she was told she could not schedule for me because of Hippa. On my return out of the country I called and after waiting 35 minutes I finally got a scheduling person only to be put on hold and then disconnected. I called again only to start the wait and process all over again but they refused to schedule because I did not have my Medicare Humana info on me although I told them it was the same thing as when she did my surgery. So I asked to speak to the doctor or her assistant and was told that they do not return calls and CANNOT speak to them. So I will go to an emergency room and obviously search for another doctor."
"Posting on behalf of my mother. She had a scheduled appt in June at Gastrocon San Antonio and somehow she got rescheduled to Aug and we weren't notified. The doc she was scheduled with was out that day and since she was already prepped, Dr. McMyler stepped in to do the procedure so we weren't inconvenienced further. She was very professional and personable. Qualities you need when dealing with anything medical. I'm thankful that my mom's experience was a good one with Dr. McMyler. "My gastro appointment did not begin well. It was drastically delayed and for that, I was a little irritated. When my name was finally called, I noticed the staff was very professional and proficient. They quickly took my vitals and led me to my bed to get undressed and get an IV. Shortly thereafter, I was rolled over to the procedure room. Dr. McMyler introduced herself and I promptly informed her I was a little angry. Her excellent bedside manner kicked in immediately! She was not above explaining what had happened and apologizing! From there it was smooth sailing with the exception of the anesthesia! That stuff really burned. So much in fact that I screamed a little twice. The anesthesiologist just held my hand and said the burning would soon stop. Well, it did because the next thing I knew, I was in recovery. Dr. McMyler was there and she told me her findings before telling me I could get dressed. Very professional, excellent staff and bedside manner! Would I go back? Absolutely!"
