"While getting a gastrointestinal study completed is both understood and intimidating, I was initially unsure about the protocol given my special condition as having epilepsy. Dr. Espinoza's team was especially sensitive to my concerns. Dr. Espinoza and the anesthesiologist explained carefully the procedures; the team took care to talk with me about 'me', it was in fact educational. Afterwards, care was taken to make certain I was comfortable, sure-footed, clear-minded, and informed about the results. Dr. Espinoza met with my wife and I for a discussion about the results, which were provided in a both a paper summary and the clinic's easily accessible website. Finally, and much appreciated, after arriving home I received a followup contact from the clinic, inquiring about my recovery from the anesthetic. From my initial contact at the front desk to the followup contact, the personal and digital touch has been professional and reassuring."

After 9 years of being treated by the VA, he still remembered me and as always is very transparent and treated me with the utmost care! They just want Dr Espinoza the include them in my blood work results every 6 months; and also a copy of the ultrasound results every 6 months. "1. Comfort care didn't have a slot available & I couldn't use my own car to see Dr. Espinoza. 2. So we talked on the phone. 3. I wasn't comfortable with Dr. Espinoza telling me that instead of adding supplements to my diet, I should remove some of them. 4. Sure, some otc meds may not work but i only stay with the ones that do, for me. And alot of prescribed meds don't really work at all. So I'm going by what I think is right for me. The prep was ordered to a near by pharmacy. I was called the day before to go over the prep. The day of the procedure I did not have to wait to go in to the preop area. Everyone on staff was great. I met Dr. Espinoza that day and the procedure went well. Dr. Espinoza came to see me in recovery to explain what he found and the follow up. I was called by the office the next day to check on my status. I was informed of the results of the biopsy via an app which had been set up when I was given the appointment. I had a colonoscopy. "If I would have been allowed sufficient time in recovery, I would not have fallen in the floor. I had been trying to remember what led to my intense lower back pain. After contacting my primary care practitioner, he referred me to an imaging center to get X-rays of my pelvis and hip. After barely waking up from the procedure, a nurse/technician came in and laid my clothes at the foot of the bed and left. I got up and started getting dressed, but lost my balance and started falling backwards. When the nurse/technician came back in to investigate the noise, she helped me up, gave me my purse, held my arm and showed me to the door. Even though the last time I had this procedure was 13 years ago, I don’t remember being rushed but being allowed the time I needed to recover I appreciated the Anesthesiologist and Dr. Espinoza explaining the procedure to me and what to expect."
