My appointments with him are always quick and I leave with a plan in place of what to do next. He’s really good about explaining things in a way that is easy to understand. He goes over your medical options with you and is good about helping you figure out medical decisions that make the most sense for you and your needs, rather than just tell you what to do. I’m glad I didn’t base my decision to work with him off of negative reviews online. He’s been correct about all of my medical conditions so far. He’s the one that figured out that I had Celiac disease when other doctors didn’t know what was causing my symptoms. The staff are always friendly too. Highly recommend!"

"I was anxious, scared and nervous about my visit to Dr. Scott Becker at Austin Gastroenterology. I had seen him in 2018 for my Colonoscopy. Which went great ! I’m so glad he was “in net work” with my insurance so that he could continue to be my doctor and help me with my new health scare… a spot on my liver. He is a very good listener, very personable, empathetic, compassionate and dedicated. He took time to explain that I needed an MRI. Once my MRI is completed then he will review the results and talk about next steps. I highly recommended Dr. Becker, you won’t be disappointed with his care."

"I was referred here after a health scare that sent me to the ER and eventually to the hospital. It was a nightmare experience. ER staff saved my life, which I will be eternally grateful for. But some of the emergency staff and an awful lot of the hospital staff made me feel like my mere presence was an inconvenience to them. Hospital docs had awful bedside manners, I was intentionally left out of decisions regarding MY healthcare and often felt emotionally traumatized by some of the things that occurred; those things on top of being scared to death because I had never been sick like this before in my 65 years of life. I was not looking forward to any more interactions with medical professionals who made me feel worse, rather than better. And who refused to even try to understand that treating people kindly and decently has a healing effect as well. I was thrilled that my interactions at Austin Gasteoentology were nothing like those at the hospital. Professional, friendly, warm, caring. Everyone I encountered was all those things, and more. My visit was just a consultation to go over proposed procedures/tests and to educate me on the process and what these procedures/tests will hopefully accomplish. My questions were answered and I was not made to feel like my health issues were a bother to those who are there to help me heal. I'm not even worried or scared about having these procedures done now; I was very worried before the consultation. I already know, and feel confident, that I will be in very good hands."

"I was referred here after a health scare that sent me to the ER and eventually to the hospital. It was a nightmare experience. ER staff saved my life, which I will be eternally grateful for. But some of the emergency staff and an awful lot of the hospital staff made me feel like my mere presence was an inconvenience to them. Hospital docs had awful bedside manners, I was intentionally left out of decisions regarding MY healthcare and often felt emotionally traumatized by some of the things that occurred; those things on top of being scared to death because I had never been sick like this before in my 65 years of life. In 2018, after one very pleasant colonoscopy and two check-ups later, Dr. Hsu and Yulia Lyuboslavsky (Clinical Nurse, who was trained in Russia as a physician would be trained in the US) diagnosed an organ dysfunction that was the cause of my colon problems. "Very nice people to check you in. The doctor I saw spent time with me and answered all my questions. I did think there was a lack of information about how to get the medication I needed for my procedure. After my consultation I got a call from an unknown company claiming I could get the medication shipped in 24 hours at less than if I filled it at the pharmacy. I think the doctors should tell you in advance if you are going to get a call. I did not accept the offer and spent hours on the phone with the pharmacy to get them to use the coupon that AG gave me. So, that could have been handled much better. Also, the doctors said she would give me a prescription for anti-nausea medication, but none was given. I think there could have been better communication between the doctor and the person who checked me out. The procedure itself and the facility was better than expected in terms of nurses and level of comfort."

I had high cholesterol and all kids of gastric issues. About a year ago he recommended the gastric sleeve surgery and suggested I talk to Dr. Fass who is a Bariactric Surgeon. I took Dr. Kumars advise and went to see Dr. Fass who explained the surgery. I had the surgery done on Jan 19th of this year and I have lost over 88 pounds.
