What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?

My wife and I raise competition level alpacas. We also love to travel, spend time with family, and grow bonsai trees.

During medical school I gained membership to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in addition to receiving Honors in Basic Sciences. During my fellowship, I served as Clinical Instructor of Medicine/ Gastroenterology, and in 1988 I received the prestigious Lawlor Award for Best Scientific Paper from the American College of Gastroenterology. In 2013, I was awarded the Patterson-Nelson Award by the TSGE for lifetime service to gastroenterology in Texas. I have been listed as one of Texas Monthly’s Top Doctors in Texas for eight consecutive years.
