About Peter L. Seraphin, D.O.
Dr. Peter Seraphin is a board-certified gastroenterologist with Hinsdale Gastroenterology Associates. He performs routine GI procedures such as upper endoscopy and colonoscopy in the diagnosis, screening and surveillance of gastrointestinal diseases and cancers. In addition, he also specializes in Barrett’s Esophagus, Fatty Liver Disease, Hepatitis, Liver Cirrhosis, and Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. He/she is fluent in English. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterologist and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

I chose Gastroenterology because I wanted to make a difference in the health of the patients I treat.
Do you have a specialty of interest in Gastroenterology?
I have a special interest in treating Barrett’s esophagus with RFA (radiofrequency ablation). During my training and studies at Loyola, I focused specifically on chronic liver disease
What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
My hobbies include woodworking. I enjoy the community life in Hinsdale with my family.

Dr Sarapine and all of his staff are outstanding and above average in all aspects of there practice and the services they provided me. They take the time to explain the entire procedure and encourage you to ask any question you might have. Dr Sarapine met and talked with me before and after the colonoscopy. Also the anesthesiologist was very knowledgeable when it involves sleep apnea and stopping breathing during the procedure. She was able to fine tune the medicine give to me so I could finish ny procedure with minimal breathing episodes. Thank you

I met Dr. Seraphin when I was hospitalized in February of this year. He is a genuinely friendly and kind person who is very approachable. It was easy to ask questions about my diagnosis and treatment plan. I subsequently followed up with him at an office visit after completing some outpatient tests. Again, he was very easy to talk to and he answered all my questions. It is so refreshing to have a physician who is not only an excellent clinician but also a great person.
