About Michael S. Lindner, M.D.

Michael Lindner, M.D. was surrounded by doctors as a young person. Many of his relatives and family friends were doctors. As a result, it was only natural that when it came time to choose a career, he chose medicine. Not only was he familiar with the profession but it was the combination of the two things he loved most: people and science.

Dr. Lindner completed medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He then went on to complete an internship as well as a residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. Afterward, he accepted a Fellowship in Gastro at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. This is where he discovered his true calling. He says, “I chose my field because I wanted to specialize, but I also wanted to be intellectually stimulated and highly involved in diagnostics. Gastro is a very diverse subspecialty that is challenging in so many exciting ways.”.

Dr. Lindner has embraced those challenges as both a physician and teacher. During his career, he has worked as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine as well as a Clinical Instructor. Both a part of the UT medical system. When asked what he enjoys most about practicing medicine, he says, “It’s the people. I love teaching students about patient care, and how that means more than just making a diagnosis or writing a prescription. Compassion and individual attention are equally important. And, of course, I love caring for my patients, giving them each individualized care.”

When Dr. Lindner finds spare time in his busy schedule, he enjoys the great outdoors. Some of his favorite activities include backpacking through Yellowstone National Park, as well as snow skiing at icy destinations across the nation.
